Kenya is a country close to my heart, having worked there as a Chartered Accountant for 4 ½ years during the 1980’s, shortly after qualifying. My eldest child Michael was also born and spent the first 2 years of his life there. If you haven’t been, Kenya is a beautiful country with really lovely people of all ethnicities.

My aforementioned son Michael worked for a Charity ‘Moving Mountains’ for a number of years, which supported projects for children in Kenya, Tanzania and Nepal. Michael was lucky enough to make visits to Kenya and Nepal, to see first hand how the projects were progressing. We will therefore also be looking to support projects through B1G1in Nepal as well.

My daughter Melanie took a sabbatical a few years ago from her job as a Manager with another charity Refugee Action. She travelled throughout India and the Far East, including acting as a volunteer for a number of months for a charity based in North West India, providing a refuge for abused women and children. We will therefore also be looking to support similar projects through B1G1 in India.
